The latest version of the hatchback carries over many of the older model’s features and mechanical bits. It is, after all, a facelift and not a full model change. But how does the new 2024 Honda Brio differ from the outgoing model? Let's find out by comparing the older Brio against the refreshed model.

Honda Brio Old vs New: Exterior

The biggest thing that changed for the all-new Brio is its front end. Specifically, the new Brio gets a mesh-type grille called diamond grille. The new Brio’s grille also looks more “open” compared to the old model because its chrome bar trim piece is now thinner. Compare that to the old Brio which came with a more “closed off” grille due to its larger decorative slat.

Likewise gaining a more streamlined look is the new Brio’s headlamps. The swept-up shape from the old model was kept, though the new design of its lighting elements now has chrome.

The lower portion of the new Brio’s front fascia also gets a pair of sleeker front foglamp housings. On the old model, this part gets a chunkier trapezoidal surround decorated with a faux vent design. The lower vent on the new model is mostly closed off by the vehicle’s plate holder. The old one meanwhile, had a much wider lower vent.

The new Brio also gets a new set of wheels. Like the older model, a 14-inch or 15-inch set is available depending on the variant. The 15-inch set on the new Brio has a new dark chrome design, while the older model has a two-tone wheel machine-polished design.

From the side and rear, there aren’t many variances between the old and new Honda Brio. The familiar hatchback silhouette remains unchanged and gets roughly the same character lines.

Honda Brio Old vs New: Interior

Step inside the new Honda Brio and you’ll find that its interior arrangement was carried over from the older version.

On both the new and old Brio models, the present is an manual climate control system with a digital display, a push-to-start button, and the same steering wheel. The new RS model also gets red stitching and red-colored trims just like the old Brio RS.

New on the 2024 Brio, however, is a shifter illuminator and a new analog gauge cluster that looks sportier than the old model’s cluster. The new model also gets a new seat pattern, giving it a more premium appeal.

Honda Brio Old vs New: Technology & Safety

The new Honda Brio keeps the same seven-inch touchscreen that was present on the older, pre-facelift model. Unlike the old one though, smartphone integration is much easier on the new Brio thanks to its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Compare that to the old model which only came with Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and audio streaming.

Handling safety for both the old and new Brio models are dual-front airbags, anti-lock braking, a security alarm, and an engine immobilizer.

Honda Brio Old vs New: Engine

The same 1.2-liter engine from the pre-facelift Brio was retained on the refreshed model. On the new model, it still makes 88 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque.

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) was likewise carried over to the newer model. Just like the pre-facelift, lower-spec trim models may also come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
