Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) introduced Miss Rie Miyake as its new president, succeeding Mr. Masahiko Nakamura.
Honda has a new chief in the Philippines
Miyake is taking the leadership post of HCPI with a long list of experience with Honda including handling overseas markets in regions like North and South America, as well as various management posts at the Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Headquarters in Japan. Her most recent role was managing the Export Planning Department of Honda’s global automobile business.
“As we embark on this fresh journey, I want to assure you – the times may have changed so much, but Honda’s commitment as the power of dreams has only grown through the years,” said Miyake.
As the new president of HCPI, Miyake promised to deliver new technologies to Filipinos including the brand’s e:HEV hybrid vehicles. While no details have been disclosed, one possible model that might get a local launch under the leadership of the new HCPI chief is the Honda Civic e:HEV.
Honda Civic e:HEV
The Honda Civic e:HEV is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine paired with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. Honda claims that this powertrain can return 25 km/l.
Other models in the local lineup that could receive the e:HEV system is the Honda City and HR-V. Note that these two models, along with the Civic e:HEV could be sourced from Thailand.

“Thank you very much for your continued support to HCPI. The past three years have been challenging, but we also learned so many things. What I will remember more is how we all worked together and came out better than before,” said Nakamura.
