Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is one of the automakers that continues to empower the youth through various efforts and programs. Now, the company partnered with the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) for the imake.wemake:create.innovate.collaborate program.

Honda Cars PH and DOST new program

The program is a go

The program is a contest that brings out the creative and innovative minds of young Filipinos by enabling them to solve the problems of their respective communities. This year’s edition gathered 89 project proposals, from public and private high schools in the country, which is the most since the program started in 2017.

Present in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between DOST-SEI, HCPI, and fellow program partners C&E Publishing, and Gokongwei Brothers Foundation were key officials including HCPI Vice President Atty. Louie Soriano and DOST-SEI Director Dr. Josette T. Biyo.

“I believe that through our partnership, more doors of opportunities will be opened, and more young people will be primed to become scientists and innovators – creating and collaborating for a better future,” said Dr. Biyo.

Honda continues to empower the community

The program empowers schools and universities to build communities of learners. A cash grant of Php 200,000 will be given to three schools selected by a distinguished Board of Judges. It will be granted after a build period of about 90 days allotted for finalists to complete their working prototype.

“Honda Cars is honored to be part of the imake.wemake program. What you are doing here truly resonates with us. As the students use their creative energies and smart ideas to craft solutions to many of society’s problems, Honda, the Power of Dreams, is unwavering about greater value through superior safety and environmental performance,” said Atty. Soriano.

As mentioned earlier, HCPI has been showing that it is always one with the youth throughout the years. One of the recent programs is the road safety program with the AIESEC in the Philippines (AIESEC). It aims to teach the youth the correct mindset when driving for safer roads.
