The second leg of the 2022 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup will be commencing on August 20, 2022. It will, of course, continue to be held at the Clark International Speedway located in Pampanga. Also returning are the first leg champions.
Admission is free. Just bring your vaxx cards
These first leg champions include Troy Montero, Alain Alzona, and John Dizon. Also entering the Sporting Class are several influencers like Gino Quillamor, Arron Villaflor, Jules Aquino, Lexi Mendiola, Enzo Pineda, and Dexi Diaz.
For the Promotional Class, personalities like Ashley Gosiengfiao, Bianca Yao, Carla Lizardo, Patch Magtanong, Benedict Cua, and Miggi Romulo will likewise enter the fray.
Members of the media will also try their hand at the Toyota GR Vios Cup Autocross Challenge. Furthermore, the victors of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup will also get to jump from digital racing to actual racing as they too will join the Autocross Challenge.
Of note, the TGR Vios Cup is a one-make race that’s been around since 2014. According to Toyota, this racing series is not only home to the country’s finest drivers but also functions as a place to start for aspiring racers.
Being a one-make race series, only one car is utilized by all for this event. To this end, the other star of the TGR Vios cup is the Vios OMR cars. All of them are heavily modified to handle the rigors of racing.
These race-spec Vios units, despite sporting the stock 1.5-liter 2NR-FE, are quite agile and significantly faster than your regular Vios. If you want to learn more about these cars, they have been described in detail in our coverage of the 2022 Toyota Philippines GR Festival.
Other than the Vios OMR cars, audiences will also get to preview the upcoming Toyota GR 86 in action.
If you want to catch the Circuit Championship and the Autocross Challenge themselves, you can visit Clark International Speedway yourself on August 20, 2022 at 9:30 am. It’s free to enter and watch, but make sure to bring your vaccination cards.
The said event will also be streamed on Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ official Facebook pages.
