As we’ve reported before, Suzuki Philippines will be launching the next-generation Celerio sometime soon. We even showed several pictures of the all-new hatchback model at the Batangas Port. More recently, spy shots were again taken of the new Celerio, and this time, several units were spotted on a car carrier truck.
We can assume these are heading to various Suzuki dealerships
To this end, we can assume that some of these are already on their way to dealerships. As such, its official launch is indeed imminent. Suzuki PH however, is yet to declare an official date for this event.
Why is this a big deal? Well for those unaware, the Celerio nameplate has been one of the popular Suzukis in the Philippines. The previous version was one of the most affordable five-seater subcompact hatchbacks in the market, and yet it offered plenty for its price. With this, it was a hatchback market shaker for the brand.
As for the specs of the upcoming 2022 Celerio, Suzuki PH is keeping mum. But if we consider the India-spec Celerio that was released last year, then the local version might come with the new 1.0-liter K10C inline-3 gasoline engine. It can produce up to 66 horsepower and 89 Nm of torque, and can either be paired with a five-speed manual tranny, or a five-speed automated manual gearbox.
Let's wait a bit for Suzuki PH to release the official specs of the upcoming Celerio
Other possible features that may be carried over to the Philippine version are a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual front airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution, and also hill-hold assist.
With regards to its exterior design, it comes with a new front fascia that is more modern-looking than the previous model that was already dropped from the local market some time ago. It is also much larger, and yet it also has a more streamlined silhouette.
