Back in 2020, Kia Philippines introduced the Stonic to the local market. It is the brand's entry into the competitive local subcompact crossover segment, and it even became one of the brand’s local top 3 best-sellers for 2020.
The all-new Kia Stonic Style Edition
Fast forward to 2021 and Kia is looking to spice up the Stonic lineup with a new variant. It’s called the Kia Stonic Style Edition, and as its name implies, it comes with a lot more flair than the other three Stonic variants. Of note, Kia PH also shared that the Stonic is currently its best-selling model.
For starters, the 2022 Kia Stonic Style Edition gets a new front skirt which is now adorned with red accents. It also rides on a set of black-colored alloy wheels. Towards the sides, it then features a side skirt with silver accents. Towards the rear, it also gets a silver accent, specifically for its rear skirt.
As for features, the all-new Stonic Style Edition comes with roof rails, a pair of projector-type halogen headlamps, and front foglamps, design details that are similar to other Stonic variants. That said, the interior is also kitted out with an eight-inch headunit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-piece speaker system.
Safety-wise, it gets dual front airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, a reverse camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, among others.
The Stonic Style Edition from the rear
And lastly, this new Stonic variant uses the same 1.4-liter inline-4 engine as the rest of the Kia Stonic lineup. At most, it makes 97 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque, and then power is sent to its front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Of note, Kia Philippines is now accepting reservations for the 2022 Stonic Style Editon 1.4 AT. Also, it has a price tag of Php 895,000, which positions it in-between the mid-spec Stonic LX 1.4 AT and the top-spec Stonic EX 1.4 AT. There are two available colors for the Stonic Style Edition: Clear White, and Prime Red.
