Kia Stonic already among company’s 3 best-sellers in PH for 2020

A strong start.

Needless to say, car sales in the country declined dramatically due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For many car brands just like Kia, they are hopeful that the year 2021 will turn things around. As a matter of fact, Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada is already projecting that Kia will deliver a triple-digit sales growth this year.

Perhaps one of the Kia vehicles that will help the Korean carmaker’s sales growth in the local market this year is the Stonic. The Kia Stonic is a subcompact crossover that was introduced in the local market just last October 2020. Regardless, the Stonic is already the third most selling Kia vehicle in the country for 2020, topping the Picanto, Sportage, and Sorento.

The Kia Stonic accounts for 16 percent of Kia PH’s total sales in 2020. Meanwhile, the Kia Soluto continues to be the top-selling vehicle with 39 percent sales this year, followed by the K2500 business and utility truck with 17 percent.

Kia PH revealed some of its plans to achieve its ambitious goals this year. The Korean carmaker will further enhance its after-sales by partnering with DHL to expedite car parts availability. The inventory of parts is also increased by five times to address its fast-track delivery through DHL.

Dealership expansion is a top priority for Kia PH. Five more Kia dealerships are expected to be established to make its services more accessible to more Filipinos. Kia also said that it will thoroughly improve its digital platform to reach more audiences amid the global health crisis.

Kia PH President Manny Aligada may be optimistic about the brand’s plan this year, but he is still open to the idea that big challenges may unexpectedly come in Kia’s way. “These new challenges will always be there, but Kia Philippines will remain resilient and strong-willed. After all, our Power to Surprise springs from our drive to serve,” he concluded.
