This or the Staria?

Hyundai released teaser photos of its new minivan called the Custo. It showcases a front fascia inspired by the new Tucson.

2022 Hyundai Custo

The Hyundai Custo features sleek LED headlights, sliding doors, sharp character lines on the sides, and full-width LED taillights with C-shaped ends. It also has a futuristic-looking grille similar to its compact crossover sibling, first seen on the new Hyundai Elantra launched last year. This type of front fascia is becoming a signature for the car brand.

Inside, the minivan features accommodations for up to seven occupants, maximizing its space for the comfort of drivers and passengers. No official specifications have been revealed by the South Korean automaker just yet. But one can expect that the new model will be equipped with a fully digital gauge cluster and a vertical infotainment screen.

Another new minivan from Hyundai

Powering the Hyundai Custo is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine capable of generating 167 hp. It is expected to come out with a front-wheel-drive layout only. This will help lower the production costs of the minivan to make it a budget-friendly option for customers in the market.

Once launched, it will be joining the Hyundai Staria in the car brand’s lineup of people haulers. Both Hyundai models come with futuristic and sleek exterior designs. These should appeal to those in the market for a large family vehicle that manages to still look stylish on the go.

Futuristic styling from the front to the back

However, the Custo won’t be offering as much cabin space as the Staria. Dimensions-wise, the minivan bears a measurement that spans 4,950 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, and 1,734 mm high. This makes the new minivan significantly smaller than the Staria by 305 mm in length, 145 mm in width, and 256 mm in height.

The 2022 Hyundai Custo will be available only in the Chinese market. More notable details such as interior features and pricing are expected to be revealed before the new minivan officially makes its debut.
