Honda has already debuted the 2022 Honda HR-V, or the Vezel as it is called in other markets. While we’ve already seen what it looks like and even compared it against the outgoing model, a Youtube channel by the name of Platinum TV released a walkthrough video of an actual model.
Check it out:
2021 HONDA HR-V / VEZEL NEW - exterior & interior overview
As seen on the video, the new HR-V sports a more elegant overall design. It does have angles on the lower front bumper, but it looks like Honda has opted to give it a minimalist look.
From front, the front end now comes with a more closed-off grille. These are still slats, but it reminds us of the more subtle design cues usually found on an electric vehicle.
The LEDs are also given a sharp new design, and the LED daytime running lamps are much more visible.

epending on the variant, the new HR-V sports over-fenders and side skirts that provide a contrast to the vehicle’s body color. One variant shown on the video even has a two-tone paint scheme with a black roof and black colored side-mirrors.
The wheels also appear new, but they mirror the contemporary design cues of other OEM Honda wheels in the market today.
Apart from the exterior, the video also shows us the engine bay. We aren’t sure whether this is the new 1.5-liter engine, but we do know that the said engine can make up to 124 horsepower.
Reports have also confirmed that the European market will be getting the HR-V e:HEV model, which uses a 96-horsepower electric motor paired with the new 1.5-liter.

Moving on to the interior, the video highlights the 60:40-fold split of the new HR-V's rear seats. It also showed off the new dashboard design. Of note, it seems that the position of the controls was optimized for better usability. In particular, the infotainment system is now closer to the air-conditioning controls to provide the driver with better forward visibility.
The 2022 Honda HR-V will be released in Japan this month as the Vezel. Upon its release, we will get a better grasp of this new model’s specs. For this, keep yourself updated here on Philkotse.com.
