The all-new 2022 Honda BR-V officially makes in debut in Indonesia, flaunting a new proper SUV look for its second-gen model. Only a few photos were released to the public which pretty much cut the fun for BR-V fans.
2022 Honda BR-V Walkaround by AutonetMagz
Fortunately, YouTuber AutonetMagz from Indonesia gave us an early look at the new model inside and out through a walkaround video.
AutonetMagz started showing off the new and muscular look of the 2022 model, shying away from that family MPV design of the outgoing model. It is highlighted by the new L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) upfront that are connected in motion with the redesigned grille.
Next up is the engine which is a 1.5-liter i-VTEC inline-4 gasoline engine that makes 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque. What makes this engine different is that it uses a DOHC setup as opposed to the SOHC setup from the outgoing model. This engine can also be seen in the Honda City Hatchback.
The second-generation model
Moving to the rear-end, the video pointed out that the new taillights look a lot similar to the one in the Honda City sedan. Also, there are a spoiler and shark fin antenna at the rear that help the model depict a sporty appearance.
Inside, the 2022 Honda BR-V gets a new and exciting cabin design. The buttons were said to be similar to the ones in the Honda CR-V. Other features showcased in the cabin include the blind-spot monitoring, leather seats and leather inserts, reverse camera, setting up the vehicle, and the Honda Sensing safety suite.
Huge changes in the design
The unit shown in the walkaround video is said to be a pre-production model. As such, AutonetMagz noted that features could still vary once the 2022 Honda BR-V goes on sale in Indonesia. Considering that it will be out soon in our ASEAN neighbor, one can expect that it is only a matter of time before Filipinos get their hands on the new second-gen model.
