Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, has unveiled the updates for the facelifted 2021 Subaru XV that is set to arrive next month. The brand made quite a significant amount of updates. Most of it is on the design and functionalities.

2021 Subaru XV Facelift

Starting at the front-end, the refreshed model gets an updated front fascia with a new bumper, fog light garnish, and LED fog lights. The blacked-out cladding is now partially stretched upward. It also comes with a revamped grille that now features an ‘egg-crate’ design, replacing the outgoing model’s honeycomb design.

Going to the sides, the 2021 Subaru XV comes with a new 18-inch alloy wheel design. New to the subcompact crossover is the reverse auto-tilt door mirrors which automatically adjust the side mirrors depending on the driver’s preference when the vehicle is in reverse mode.

The updates in the interior are mostly on the onboard technologies including and a new 8-inch infotainment screen that supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It now also allows a front view monitor function which provides more visibility. Moreover, the 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat available on the 2020 2.0i-S variants is added with a memory function.

Perhaps the most notables updates on the 2021 Subaru XV are the addition of Dual X-Mode and SI-Drive. The Dual X-Mode provides better traction depending on the road condition by allowing drivers to choose between Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud mode. Meanwhile, the SI-Drive, or Subaru Intelligent Drive, allows drivers to alter the engine response by choosing between sports mode and eco mode.

A familiar sight with few changes

To complement the more spirited driving experience the refreshed model offers, Japanese car brand Subaru enhanced the suspension system to provide a more comfortable ride. The brand has also added speed sensing auto door locks to improve safety.

Powering the 2021 Subaru XV is still the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine that makes 154 hp and 196 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, sending power to all wheels thanks to the brand’s renowned symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.

Offers a more innovative driving experience

Subaru Philippines offers the facelifted XV at Php 1,908,000 for its sole 2.0i-S EyeSight variant with the tagline ‘Seriously Fun.’ But Subaru is offering an introductory cash discount of Php 80,000 for the facelifted XV. With that, you can drive it home for Php 1,828,000. The 2021 Subaru XV can come with a wide array of body paint options including the new plasma yellow pearl, magnetite gray, and horizon blue pearl.
