Propelling the Vigus is a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that's capable of making 128 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. Managing its power is a five-speed manual gearbox. The Vigus is available with a 4x2 drivetrain or a 4x4 drivetrain.
Locally, the Vigus competes against the entry-level trims of the Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Navara, and Mitsubishi Triton. It also faces several variants within Toyota's lineup of Hilux fleet vehicles.
Launch
The JMC Vigus entered the Philippine market in 2024 at the Manila International Auto Show together with its JMC Grand Avenue sibling.
At launch, the Vigus 4x2 MT is priced at Php 998,000, while the Vigus 4x4 MT is priced at Php 1,098,000.
Exterior
On the outside, the Vigus is a straightforward truck albeit with some macho-looking design touches on its expansive grille.
Exterior features available on this vehicle include halogen headlamps, front fog lamps, a roll bar, and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
Size-wise, the Vigus is 5,301mm long, 1,905mm wide, and 1,782mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 3,085mm.
Interior
The Vigus can comfortably seat up to five occupants. Its cabin is mostly made out of durable plastic materials but it has fabric-clad seats, power windows, and a pollen and PM2.5 filter for its manual air-conditioning system. The front cabin of the Vigus also gets a USB charging port, while the rear features a 12-volt charging outlet.
Tech & Safety
Handling on-board entertainment for the 2024 Vigus is a Radio and Bluetooth MP5 system linked to four speakers.
For safety meanwhile, it has dual front airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, automatic locking, and child locks.
Engine
The 2024 JMC Vigus uses a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that's good for 129 hp and 315 Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. Also available on this nameplate is a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain.
Chassis
