The refreshed 2023 Hyundai Palisade is a midsize, three-row crossover. It’s coming to the Philippine market, and it is joining the new local Hyundai lineup.
Size-wise, the new Palisade is 4,995mm long, 1,975mm wide, and 1,760mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,900mm.
Under the hood of the updated Palisade, at least for the US market, is a 3.8-liter V6 that can produce up to 291 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque. The local market will likely receive the 2.2-liter turbo that was used on the previous version. At most, this mill can make up to 197 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque.
The Palisade uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.
Locally, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade will compete against the Ford Explorer, Mazda CX-9, Korea Sorento, among others.
Launch
Initially, the Palisade debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Its refreshed model then came later at the 2022 New York Auto Show. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade for the local market will then be previewed at the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show.
Exterior
The refreshed Hyundai Palisade for the model 2023 assumes the current Hyundai design language. This is apparent on its front end, which is now given a grille that looks like an upscaled version of the one on the current Creta and Tucson.
Also, it gets a pair of new LED daytime running lamps, as well as a set of spoked alloy wheels.
Interior
Like the previous version, the refreshed Palisade can seat up to eight. The new one gets more tactile controls, and a sleeker steering wheel. The AC vents also come with a different design as well. Its seats are also wrapped in more premium materials.
Tech and Safety
Most improvements on the refreshed model concerns the Palisade’s tech features. For starters, it gets a revamped digital gauge cluster, as well as a better wireless charging pad. The infotainment system has also grown to 12-inches, and it now has more integration for a variety of gadgets.
For safety, this Hyundai-made crossover is kitted out with adaptive cruise control, forward collision assist, rear-cross traffic collision-avoidance assist (PCA-R), and plenty of other safety features. It also gets additional airbags as well.
Chassis
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is a midsize crossover. It still shares a platform with the Kia Telluride, and it uses a MacPherson strut for the front, and a multi-link with self-leveling shock absorbers for the rear. It then uses disc brakes for all four wheels, as well as an electronic parking brake.
Engine
The upcoming Palisade is likely to get the same 2.2-liter CRDi engine that was present on the pre-facelift version. At most, this mill can churn out 197 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.
In other markets where it was released though, it is also available with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that can make 291 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque.
