The 2023 Foton View Transvan Philippines, as per its name, is a rear-wheel-drive van. It has three variants for the local market. There’s the View Transvan 13-seater, View Transvan 15-seater, and the View Transvan 16-seater. The first two are priced at Php 1,143,000, while the 16-seater model is priced at Php 1,233,000.
Size-wise, the Foton View Transvan 13 and 15-seater is 4,850mm long, 1,695mm wide, and 1,980mm in height. The 16-seater model meanwhile is 5,335mm long, 1,695mm wide, and 2,240mm in height. The larger model also has a longer wheelbase at 3,050mm, compared to the smaller model’s 2,570mm.
Under the hood of the Foton View Transvan is a 2.8-liter diesel engine that’s capable of making up to 95 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. All trims then use a five-speed manual gearbox.
Launch
The latest Foton Transvan HR was launched in 2018 at the 10th Year Anniversary of the Land Transportation Office motor show which focused on displaying modern public utility vehicles. Currently offered are three variants which are priced at Php 1,143,000 for both the 13- and 15-seaters, and Php 1,233,000 for the top range HR 16-seater.

Foton View Transvan Exterior
On the outside, the View Transvan follows the design of typical vehicles in its segment which is long and boxy. The front fascia is decked with a wide grille and a bulging bumper. One each side of the black grille are large, glaring halogen headlights and fog lamps. All variants of the 4-door van ride on 15-inch alloys as standard.
The top-spec high roof (HR) Transvan variant comes larger at 5,335mm in length, 2,020mm in width, and 2,250mm tall.
Foton View Transvan Interior
The Foton View Transvan interiors are as straightforward and clean as the outside. Seats are wrapped in fabric while the dashboard and the rest of the cabin are clad in a black and gray palette. The seating capacity depends on each model in the line-up, which ranges from 13 to 16. All variants are furnished with front and rear manual air-conditioning systems. The 16-seater HR variant adapts the configuration of the Foton Traveller.
Technology & Safety Features
The Foton View Transvan is marketed primarily for its utility and functionality, thus it is fitted with only the essential safety and entertainment features to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. Its entertainment system is capable of playing AM/FM radio stations and CDs, which can also be connected to a smart device or MP3 player through its USB and Aux-in ports. Audio comes out of a 4-speaker sound system.
In terms of safety, the Transvan comes with an electronic brake distribution and anti-lock brake systems that provide an extra layer of security for its passengers. For the driver’s convenience, power steering is also incorporated in the vehicle’s engineering.
View Transvan Platform & Chassis
The 4-door van is equipped with double-wishbone independent front suspension and small leaf spring independent suspension on the rear. Stopping power comes from anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution disc brake in front. It is complemented by rear drum brakes. Steering is made easier through its hydraulic system.
Engine & Drivetrain
Powering the Foton View Transvan base variants is a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 90 hp and 225 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the HR variant comes with a 2.8-liter common rail direct injection (CRDI) diesel engine that can yield up to 109 hp and 225 Nm of torque. Both engine types are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels.
