The Ford F-150 2023 is a full-size pickup truck that is now in its fourteenth generation. This generation was launched in the Philippine market in November 2021. Locally, the sole variant of the F-150 is the Lariat 3.0 V6 4x4 AT, and it has a price tag of Php 3,398,000. Under the hood of the all-new Ford F-150 is a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel mill. At maximum, this engine can churn out 250 horsepower and 596 Nm of torque. Power from the said engine is distributed to all four wheels via a 4x4 drivetrain, and it also uses a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Size-wise, the F-150 Lariat 4x4 3.0 V6 AT is 5,885mm long, 2,431mm wide, and 1,961mm in height. It has a wheelbase length of 3,693mm, and a ground clearance of 239mm. The Ford F-150's only competitor in the local market is the Ram 1500.
Launch
On November 2021, Ford Philippines introduced the all-new, 14th-gen F-150. It is available in one variant called the F-150 Lariat 3.0 V6 4x4 AT.
Globally, the 14th-generation F-150 was introduced much earlier in 2020. The new model avaialble locally uses the same V6 mill found on the previous generation model. In other markets, there's also a V8 option.
Ford F-150 Exterior
Like the previous model, the new 2023 Ford F-150's exterior provides a large grille that is joined by equally huge headlights. It rides on a set 20-inch wheels, which are then wrapped with all-terrain tires.
The Ford F-150 is simply a massive truck with a length of 5,885mm, a width that measures 2,431mm (including the mirrors), and a height of 1961 mm, 1961mm. It also has a wheelbase of 3,198mm, and a ground clearance of 239mm.
This version of the F-150 also comes standard with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps, power deployable running boards, remote tailgate release, front tow hooks, etc.
Ford F-150 Interior
As with most pickup trucks, the F-150 can accomodate up to five occupants. In being a full-size truck however, it provides even more legroom, headroom, and elbowroom. The front seats are also power adjustable. All seats are clad in leather, and are all ventilated.
Other interior featues for the Philippine-spec F-150 Lariat includes ambient lighting, a sunroof, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, power adjustable pedals, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, among others.
Technology & Safety Features
Dominating the dashboard of the F-150 2023 is a 12-inch touchscreen LCD unit with the Sync 4 system. It also comes with wireless, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, as well as six USB ports spread inside the vehicle. The said headunit is then paired with an eight-piece Bang and Olufsen sound system.
For safety, the F-150 Lariat is kitted out with dual-front airbags, side airbags, and side-curtain airbags. It also has a the Ford Safety Canopy System, as well as a rollover sensor. Other safety equipment found on the 2023 F-150 Lariat includes an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, the SecuriCode security system, trailer sway control, and stability control.
The new F-150 also comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot 360, and the Ford Co-Pilot Assist. This means it has adaptive cruise control, active parking assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection with rear-cross traffic alert, lane centering assist, evasive steering, a 360-degree view camera, reverse braking assist, and many other driver assist technologies.
Platform & Chassis
The 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat for the Philippine market uses the Ford T3 Platform. It shares with other versions of the F-150 that are unavailable locally.
For suspensions, the F-150 Lariat uses a double-wishbone front suspension, and a leaf-spring rear suspension. Braking is then handled by disc brakes for all four wheels. It also uses an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.
Ford F-150 Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood of the Philippines-spec F-150 Lariat is a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine. At maximum, this engine can produce up to 250 horsepower and 596Nm of torque. For transmissions, it uses a ten-speed automatic gearbox, as well as multiple drive modes for its 4x4 drivetrain.
