While the updates sound promising, it is still unclear whether Ford Philippines is looking to bring the new F-150 in. In the meantime, let’s check out what’s new on the F-150 in the 2024 model year.

Exterior

The front-end design is tweaked to provide a more modern appearance while “still being recognizable as a Ford F-Series vehicle.” The front bumper can be equipped with a dealer-installed Ford Performance Winch Kit, allowing owners to take the truck off-road confidently.

The updated F-150 comes with a Pro Access Tailgate

The highlight of the update is the introduction of the class-exclusive Pro Access Tailgate, which offers a 100-degree fully opened integrated swing gate for flexibility and productivity. This is a smaller, lighter door placed in the middle of the tailgate. Since it spoils the need to open the tailgate, the feature provides access to the items in the back by adding 483 mm of reach.

Productivity is improved in the new model

The F-150 Raptor and Tremor are offered with an optional modular front bumper finished in a combination of tarnished dark anodized and carbon black colors. The former gets new Fox dual live valve shocks, while the latter uses a coast-to-coast grille, bolstering the truck’s off-road aesthetics.

Interior

Speaking of the F-150 Tremor, the off-road appeal is carried over into the interior with variant-exclusive bits such as accent stitching, decorative finishes, and floor mats. Passengers can get inside the cabin with running boards unique to the aforementioned variant.

The driving is made more immersive with new amenities such as a HUD

A 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC4 is now standard across the range, complemented by a similarly-sized digital screen for the instrument cluster. Moreover, a heads-up display is integrated into the model for the first time, providing essential information, such as speed, to the driver without looking away from the road.

Tech & Safety

Ford has also improved the connectivity, allowing a more seamless transfer of in-vehicle data to FordPass and Ford Pro Telematics. The former allows owners to control the vehicle using an app, while the latter is a cloud-based platform that provides vehicle data to fleet managers.

The class-exclusive 5G LTE platform in the US market also enables functions such as faster mapping, Wi-Fi, and Ford Power-Up software updates.

Safety-wise, the F-150 comes standard with 10 standard driver assist features including the latest version of pre-collision, lane-keeping assist, and blind spot information system, among others. The truck is also available with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.

Engine

In the engine department, Ford is lowering the price of the PowerBoost hybrid engine to match the starting price of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The hybrid is capable of generating 430 horsepower and 773 Nm of torque, the most in the range excluding the Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R.

“We’re making hybrid more accessible to our customers, giving them the power of choice by offering it [at] the same price as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost. This is the latest example of Ford democratizing technology for all truck customers,” said Andrew Frick, Vice President, Sales and Trucks, Ford Blue.
