Based on what we see from social media posts, Honda fans are hyped up for the 11th generation 2022 Honda Civic. In fact, the all-new Civic is reportedly bound to make its Philippine debut in November.
The upcoming Honda Civic Si for the North American market
To further feed the global hype for the new Civic, Honda North America has released an official teaser for the Civic Si. For those unaware, the Civic Si is the sporty trim of the Honda-made sedan. It is unavailable in the Philippines, but it has been the go-to Civic variant for the North American buyers if they want a sportier-looking, better-handling Civic.
For the one that was featured on the video above, it seems that Honda USA is looking to make it even sportier. Specifically, the teaser shows that the brand’s engineers are developing it to be more capable on the track.

Though not much details about this we’re shared, we do know that it looks drastically different from the regular North American Civic. It seems lower to the ground than the regular model, and it also sports a sizable rear wing, a large front splitter. It also has some hood vents.
As for the engine of the Civic Si, it is reported that it will be using a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can make up to 205 horsepower and 260 Nm. The said engine is then paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The upcoming Civic Si from the side
So, will the upcoming Civic Si look like the one on the teaser? Many have expressed their doubts. It is likely though that the wing won’t make it to the final product, or at least it might get a smaller, more modest one. For sure though, this might be the sportiest, best-handling Civic Si yet judging by the effort Honda is pouring into making it race capable.
