For Filipinos, time for your long wait to behold this much-awaited SUV has finally elapsed and now, you can stretch out your arms to welcome it landing onto our shores. Let’s look through our brief report on Philkotse.com to gain an overview of what the pickup-based SUV from Nissan has to offer.

1. Nissan Terra 2018 Exterior

Although claimed to be developed from the Nissan Navara NP300, the Nissan Terra 2018 exterior still features a number of distinctive styling cues.

Up front, the SUV seems to be a modified version of the Nissan Terrano. In particular, the Nissan Terra owns a muscular look thanks to the brand’s signature V-shaped chrome grille and a set of sharply-designed head lights which feature project units and LED daytime running lamps. Also noticeable at the front fascia are the massive air intake, the chunky front bumper and the blacked-out fog light housings with chrome trim.

As for the side profile, the Terra 2018 looks even bolder thanks to:

  • Big set of 18-inch alloy wheels;
  • Flared fenders;
  • Blackened glass area;
  • Signal indicator featured ORVMs with chrome-trimmed caps;
  • Chrome-finished door handles;
  • Generous ground clearance which is visible due to its high sitting stance.

Further down to the rear, there is a chrome trim which combines the unique set of tail lamps together. Speaking of its overall dimension, the Terra SUV measures 4,882 mm x 1,850 mm x 1,835 mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. When compared to the Toyota Fortuner, this Nissan PPV is longer in terms of both length and wheelbase with an extra of 87 mm for the former and 105 mm for the latter. Worth of note, the car has a decent ground clearance of 220 mm with 26° departure angle and 33° approach angle.

2. Nissan Terra 2018 Interior

Stepping inside, the Nissan Terra 2018 interior closely resembles the car it's inspired. In detail, it is decked with a sloping dashboard and a V-shaped steering wheel. Other than that, the higher-end variants are far coddled with an automatic climate control system with rear air vents.

With reference to space, the SUV is well capable of accommodating seven passengers with three seating rows. Ingress and egress to the 3rd row are currently more effortlessly owing to an installation of an automatic tumble function for seats at the second row. Simply push a button on the dash to move in or out.

  • 360-degree around-view monitor
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Lane departure warning
  • Reverse camera
  • Airbags
  • ABC
  • Hill-descent control
  • Vehicle dynamic control
  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Parking sensors

3. Nissan Terra 2018 Engine & Performance

It is already confirmed to ride on the same body-on-frame chassis found in the Nissan Navara pickup truck. So, the Terra features the same 4x4 as well as potent off-road ability from its brother.

Dissimilar to the Chinese-mode Terra which packs a 2.5L QR25 gasoline engine, the Terra in ASEAN market is motivated by a 2.5L YD25DDTi turbo-diesel unit which, of course, is borrowed from the Nissan pickup. This hefty engine can push out 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque, working in tandem with a 7-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
