Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the refreshed Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). This comes just a few months after its initial ASEAN debut in Thailand.

Of note, this is still the current XG10 generation model, but the brand gave this refreshed ride a slicker new look, as well as more amenities. Plus, TMP decided to drop the internal combustion-only variants in favor of an entirely hybrid-powered lineup.
The question now is, what can prospective buyers expect from the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross HEV?
Exterior
As mentioned above, the Corolla Cross HEV’s G and V trims get a slicker look courtesy of a new honeycomb grille. This detail goes together with a pair of new LED headlamps & daytime running lamps, as well as a more detailed front bumper that now features faux air vents.

Towards the sides, the vehicle pretty much retains the same outline and shape, but the top-spec GR-S trim now gets a new panoramic moon. The rear of the updated Corolla Cross meanwhile, still has wraparound LED taillights and a chunky rear bumper.
To make it stand out more, the top-spec GR-S (Gazoo Racing) trim gets a unique set of body kits. This includes an alternate front and rear bumper, as well as a sportier-looking grille. The GR-S and V also get the largest wheels at 18 inches, while the G rides on a 17-inch set of wheels.

Interior
Inside, the Corolla Cross HEV for 2024 still retains a five-seater configuration, but it features a host of new features such as automatic climate controls with rear vents, rear USB-C ports, and a kick-activated power tailgate, among others.

The refreshed model’s cockpit likewise gets larger displays, including a seven-inch digital and analog instrument display for the V trim. The GR-S variant meanwhile, gets a fully digital 12.3-inch gauge cluster. Both the V and GR-S also have power-adjustable driver’s seats.
Furthermore, the 2024 Corolla Cross replaced now has an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality. This replaces the old pedal parking brake on the outgoing model.

In addition, the refreshed crossover also gets a push-to-start button, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a center armrest for the front and rear cabins, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and many other amenities.
Tech & Safety
Handling on-board entertainment for the updated Corolla Cross is a 10-inch touchscreen central display. This screen is linked to a six-piece speaker system, and it offers wireless Apple CarPlay as well as wireless Android Auto. Keeping one’s smartphone topped up is likewise made easier aboard this Toyota thanks to a wireless charging pad.

For safety, it gets what you’d expect from a modern crossover. As standard, it has a total of seven airbags, anti-lock braking with electric brake-force distribution, stability control, etc.
Parking is then made easier thanks to the presence of a rear-view parking camera and rear parking sensors. Higher-spec trims add to those with a 360-degree-view parking camera and front parking sensors.
To provide assistance and more convenience for its driver, this updated model also gets Toyota Safety Sense. This is the brand’s suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) which includes automatic high beams, lane tracing assist, dynamic cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, as well as a pre-collision system.
Engine
Propelling all three trims of the 2024 Corolla Cross HEV is a 1.8-liter hybrid system. At the most, its gasoline engine and electric motor can make a combined 120 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque.

Power is sent to the updated Corolla Cross HEV’s front wheels via a continuous variable transmission (CVT). To squeeze more efficiency and performance out of its hybrid powertrain, this model also gets eco, power, as well as an electric vehicle (EV) mode.
For suspensions, this refreshed model gets McPherson struts for the front and a torsion beam suspension for the rear. These are further enhanced with GR-S tuning for the top-spec model.

Price
Where pricing is concerned, the entry-level Corolla Cross HEV G retails at Php 1,498,000. The mid-spec Corolla Cross HEV V is priced at Php 1,763,000, while the top-spec GR-S trim is priced at Php 1,917,000.
