This new GAC MPV is filled to the brim with features.

GAC Motor Philippines has launched the all-new M6 Pro seven-seater MPV for the local market. But while it is classed as an MPV, this new model boasts enough amenities and features that might push it beyond the realm of mere people carriers.

2024 GAC M6 Pro

If this is the first time you’ve ever heard about the M6 Pro, remember that this was previewed by GAC PH back in December 2023. It also counts as one of the six new models the brand is launching this year.

That said, what is the all-new GAC M6 Pro offering to its prospective buyers? Let’s go over its specs to find out.

Exterior

Appearance-wise, the GAC M6 Pro is as sleek as MPVs get. Sure, it is still a hefty-looking ride, but GAC says that its overall shape is inspired by a “wind wing” form. This hints towards an aerodynamic look that will stand out amongst the sea of MPVs in the local market.

A closer look at the M6 Pro's headlamps

Up front, the all-new M6 pro gets an eye-catching front fascia that’s decorated by a pair of sharp-looking LED clusters. The said cluster gets matrix LED headlamps with automatic height adjustment, high beam assist, and a follow-me-home function.

Between the LED clusters is an expansive grille section that’s decorated with horizontal slats. This is then framed by a curved silver trim piece which stretches downwards to the vehicle’s slick-looking lower front bumper.

Towards the sides, the M6 Pro offers humungous doors paired with expansive windows. From this angle, one can see that the top-spec trim gets a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the M6 likewise gets attractive details such as LED beads that span the width of the MPV

Other exterior features available on the higher-spec GAC M6 Pro variant include rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, as well as a privacy glass for the second row and rear windows. All trims come standard with a power-folding side mirror and rear fog lamps.

Size-wise, the M6 Pro is 4,793mm long, 1,837mm wide, and 1,730mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,810mm and a curb weight of 1,660 kg at its heaviest.

Interior

Inside the GAC M6 Pro is a well-appointed cockpit with plenty of creature comforts. The driver has access to a power-adjustable seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a push-to-start button, as well as cruise control.

All inside this all-new MPV can get to ride in comfort thanks to a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear vents. This component is further enhanced thanks to a PM 1.0 air filter, and air quality sensors.

The all-new MPV's second row

For the top-spec model, all seats are wrapped in PVC leather. The second row gets 4-way adjustable captain seats as standard, while the third row gets a bench-type seat with 60:40 split-folding functionality. In total, this chalks up to a 2+2+3 seating configuration with room to spare for cargo.

With all the seats folded down, however, the GAC M6 Pro can provide up to 1,100 liters of cargo space.

Tech & Safety

Sitting in the middle of the M6 Pro’s dashboard is a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. The said screen gets Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. Sound meanwhile, is fed to the cabin via an eight-piece speaker system (GL). For the driver, a seven-inch LCD instrument cluster display is provided.

Safety aboard the top-spec M6 Pro GL is ensured by several advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). This includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, and more.

Those advanced safety bits work together with the MPV’s array of standard safety equipment. Depending on the variant, this includes dual front airbags, dual front side and side airbags, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, engine immobilizer, tire pressure monitoring, and stability control, among others.

Engine

The 2024 M6 Pro uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that’s paired with a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. At the most, this powertrain can deliver 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque to the vehicle’s front wheels.
