GAC Motor Philippines has officially launched the all-new GS3 Emzoom, rejoining the local subcompact crossover segment. The 2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom, available in three variants, features an assertive exterior design that comes along with a modern-looking interior as well as a turbocharged gasoline engine under the hood.

All-new 2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom

From the looks of it, GAC Motor PH is aiming to shake up the subcompact crossover segment with the all-new GS3 Emzoom, which is a market where the Geely Coolray has a strong foothold. GAC’s newest model is also set to go up against the likes of the Changan CS35 Plus, MG ZS, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Kia Seltos, among others.

The all-new GS3 was first unveiled in China last December 2022, and the Philippines is the first international market to introduce GAC Motor’s all-new subcompact crossover.

“We are proud to be the first market to host the international debut of the [all-new] GS3 Emzoom after its reveal in China last December. The GS3 Emzoom is the newest challenger in the scene, set to drive our brand to new heights and zoom through Philippine roads with its fierce and sporty character,” GAC Motor PH brand head Jun Cajayon said.

Exterior

The GS3 Emzoom’s front end comes with an assertive and confident demeanor as seen on the angular bumper, large grille, LED headlights, and LED daytime running lights in the form of an inverted triangular shape. The top-of-the-line GL variant also comes with a sporty body kit as well as a set of 19-inch wheels, and exhaust sound. The entry-level GS and the mid-spec GB come with 18-inch wheels.

It comes with crisp character lines

The side profile has crisp character lines that further add to the 2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom’s assertive styling. The hidden door handles are seamlessly integrated, creating a smooth and modern-like side profile, which is similar to what you’ve seen in the Emkoo.

The rear is fitted with distinctive taillights, an aggressive-looking bumper, and a roof spoiler. The top-spec GS3 Emzoom GL is equipped with a power tailgate as well as an electric sunroof.

Interior

Step inside the vehicle and you’ll be greeted with a modern-looking cabin that’s said to combine trendy aesthetic with functionality and comfort. The driver-oriented dashboard is dominated by dual wide screens that serve as the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment touchscreen.

It also comes with a two-tone interior theme with three colorway options: Blue and Black, Green and Beige, and Caramel Brown and Black. The vehicle also has a multi-function steering wheel, an electronic shifter, ambient lighting, and up to 21 storage spaces or cubby holes. Beneath the center console is an open tray, giving you more space to stow away handy items.

Automatic air conditioning and rear aircon vents are equipped on the GS3 Emzoom except for the entry-level GS trim. Leather seats are fitted on the top- and mid-spec GS3 Emzoom while the base trim gets fabric. But, only the top-spec GL trim comes with a six-way power seat.

It can accommodate up to five individuals

GAC Motor PH claims that the all-new GS3 Emzoom’s cabin offers larger space in comparison to its rivals in the subcompact crossover segment. The rear center armrest can be found only on the top-spec GS variant, but all GS3 Emzoom comes with 60:40 split folding rear seats.

Tech & Safety

The 2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom is loaded with tech and safety features, which is the way to go in order to put up a serious challenge to the likes of the Geely Coolray.

Standard in all three GS3 Emzoom variants is a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that’s integrated with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android mirroring. To make things more interesting, the top-spec GS3 Emzoom GL gets a wireless smartphone charger. Meanwhile, the top- and mid-spec trims come with a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster.

All variants also get rear parking sensors and cruise control as standard. The mid-spec GB gets a rear camera while the top-spec GL has a surround-view camera system.

The GL trim is also the most equipped in terms of tech features, which is expected since it’s the top-of-the-line trim. As such, the GS3 Emzoom GL comes with Advanced Driver Assitance Systems (ADAS) that include the following tech: adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition system, traffic jam assist, high beam assist, intelligent speed limit control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning.

Engine

Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine

All variants of the all-new 2023 GAC GS3 Emzoom are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. The said numbers can relatively challenge Coolray, which churns out 177 hp and 255 Nm.

The GS3 Emzoom’s engine is connected to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission with power sent to the front wheels.
