Debuted in June 2020, the fourth-generation all-new Kia Carnival has now officially arrived on our shores, featuring a more modern-looking exterior design and posher interior layout.
All-new 2022 Kia Carnival
Kia Philippines boasted that the 2022 Carnival is perfect for VIPs and their families thanks to its next-gen features inside and out. The Korean minivan comes with characteristics and features that aim to enhance the overall ride experience.
“The all-new Carnival delivers first-class treatment worthy of a VIP,” said Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada.
Exterior
Needless to say, Korean automaker Kia has been on a roll in delivering exquisite car designs to the market, and the new Carnival is not an exemption. The minivan is designed with a more modern appeal thanks to features such as the larger tiger nose grille, all LED lighting setup with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), sharper exterior body, and the Island Roof supported by the distinct C-Pillar design.

For the base EX variant, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels are made available. Meanwhile, the top-spec SX variant sports larger 19-inch wheels. Filipino car buyers can avail of one of the three color options, namely the Snow White Pearl for a clean finish, Aurora Black Pearl for a classic silhouette, and Astra Blue for that premium appeal.
Interior
Thanks to the model’s 7-seating configuration, families can move around the city in comfort and convenience. Yes, both variants of the all-new PH-spec Carnival come with seven seats. As of this writing, Kia PH has no plans to offer the 11-seater version.

Moreover, the vehicle comes with a smart power sliding door for easier access in and out of the cabin.
Safety & Tech
The center console hosts an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is paired with a 6-speaker sound system for passengers can enjoy a fuller listening experience on the go. Additionally, the screen gives drivers the display for the Rear View Monitor (RVM) function to assist them in parking the Kia Carnival.
Passengers can stay connected on the go
Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) named DRIVE WISE made its way into the PH-spec model. It offers features such as Lane Keep and Follow Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning (FCA-JT), and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA). Meanwhile, seven airbags and cruise control are part of the standard safety features.
Engine & Performance
Powering the Korean minivan is a 2.2 VGT CRDi diesel engine that is capable of generating 199 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. The engine sends power exclusively to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Kia Philippines claims that the powertrain ‘provides sufficient power, superior handling, and efficient fuel savings.’
A serious contender in the minivan market
The Korean marque wants owners to have a smooth and premium driving experience. That said, features such as a Drive Mode Select and Electronic Parking Brake have been retained by Kia to the current model.
