It’s not just the Vios subcompact sedan that got a revamped trim lineup as the variant options for the Toyota Rush have also been streamlined.
The Toyota Rush was previously offered in three variants in the Philippines: Rush 1.5 E MT, 1.5 E AT, and 1.5 GR Sport AT. Now, Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) official website only has one variant option listed under the Rush model name.
The only surviving Rush variant in the Philippines is the GR-Sport (GR-S) trim, which retails at Php 1,196,000. The Rush E variants, both the MT and AT trims, are no longer listed on the official website of TMP. Toyota also confirmed that the Rush is now only sold in one variant, the GR-S trim.
The Toyota Rush GR-S was first introduced in the local market in June 2022. It comes with a more assertive-looking demeanor due to the addition of GR-S-specific design details. It comes with GR-branded front bumper spoiler, rear bumper, spoiler, and side body molding.
Inside, it has a seven-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Rush GR-S also comes with standard safety and security functions like Anti-Lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, Toyota Vehicle Security System, among others. Aside from those mentioned, the Rush GR-S has a camera and back sonar/sensor.
Under the hood, it is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that delivers 102 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. The engine is then connected to a four-speed automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, TMP has axed another Vios variant, reducing the option to six trims as of this writing. The latest Vios trim booted out is the Vios GR-S, which is the former top-spec model of Toyota Philippines’ popular subcompact sedan. As it currently stands, the top-spec Vios variant in the Philippines is now the 1.5 G CVT, retailing at Php 1,039,000.
