Last month, Philkotse learned that the Rush GR-Sport (GR-S) is already available in the Philippines, and on display in select Toyota showrooms. The said news was confirmed by our insider source among Toyota dealers.
2022 Toyota Rush GR-S
Now, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) made an official announcement that the Rush GR-S is indeed available in the market. It retails at Php 1,176,000, which is accurate to our previous report about the said vehicle.
The new Toyota Rush GR-S will also be the model’s top-of-the-line variant, replacing the G trim. Previously, our report stated that TMP has dropped the Rush G trim from the model’s variant lineup. But, the Rush G variant is still shown on Toyota Philippines’ official website as of this writing with a corresponding price tag of Php 1,176,000. Maybe TMP has yet to update its website and spec sheet for the Rush.
Similar to other GR-S Toyota models in the Philippines, the specific Rush variant comes with a more assertive-looking demeanor due to the addition of GR-S-specific design details. It comes with GR-branded front bumper spoiler, rear bumper, spoiler, and side body molding. TMP said that the Rush GR-S has the following color options: Dark Red Mica Metallic, Black Metallic 1, and White 2.
"The Toyota Rush has been a preferred SUV for young people seeking to fully live their active lifestyle with a car that can keep up with their desire to break away from the everyday," TMP First Vice President Sherwin Chualim said.

The Toyota Rush GR-S is also integrated with a 7-inch infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with standard safety and security functions like Anti-Lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, Toyota Vehicle Security System, among others. Aside from those mentioned, the Rush GR-S has a camera and back sonar/sensor.
It still has the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine under the hood that delivers 102 hp and 134 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 Toyota Rush GR-S is now available in TMP’s 72 dealerships nationwide.
