Toyota Motor PH officially announces 2023 TGR Vios Cup champions

Another season of hot racing action concludes.

Toyota Motor Philippines has officially announced the champions of the 2023 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup. This includes the victors of the Circuit Championship and the Autocross Challenge.

Of note, the racing action for the TGR Vios Cup from the first to the last leg was held at the Clark International Speedway (CIS). Also concluded in the third leg of the racing series were the Circuit Championship Race 8, and Race 7, as well as the first-ever TGR Grand Prix race.

The Grand Prix is a one-hour and 30-minute race with mandatory pit stops. It was competed by all circuit racers from all three classes. Finishing first in the promotional class for the Grand Prix was Alain Alzona of Toyota General Santos - Chooks-to-Go Racing. Darrel Garbes of Inbox Toyota San Fernando meanwhile, took the win for the Sporting Class, while Red Diwa of JBT Racing - Toyota Isabela emerged as the Grand Prix victor in the Super Sporting Class. 

The third leg likewise saw demonstration runs from Autocross Challenge champions from yesteryears. 

Toyota GR Altis

Piloting the Toyota GR Altis in these demo runs were the 2022 Media Sporting Class Champion, Jamil Lacuna of Autoindustriya, 2022 Media Promotional Class Champion, Pablo Salapantan of YugaAuto, and 2021 Media Class Champion Jose Altoveros. 

Besides all the racing action, Toyota’s GR-S lineup likewise wowed the crowds at CIS. Included in the display were the Fortuner GR-S, Hilux GR-S, Rush GR-S, and GR Yaris, among others.
