2023 Toyota GR Vios Cup final leg to commence this weekend

The season finale for Toyota’s motorsports event will be packed with action. 

The final leg of the 2023 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup is all set and ready to go this coming November 11 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga.

This upcoming weekend will see plenty of motorsports action

With this being the last leg, event-goers and those watching it via live stream from Toyota’s social media pages may expect exciting and blood-pumping racing action, particularly from the Grand Prix event. The best part is that entry to the TGR Vios Cup grounds in CIS is free.

The Grand Prix is the highlight of the TGR Vios Cup Circuit Championship as it is the first time it will be showcased. In this race, drivers are given 1.5 hours to complete as many laps around CIS. The driver with the most laps completed wins the endurance race

Participating in the Grand Prix event are drivers divided into three classes. There’s the Super Sporting class which includes veteran racers like Red Diwa, Lord Seno, Joaqin Garrido, Gerard Loy, Troy Montero, John Dizon, Bryan Co, Royce Sarmiento, Ian Rosales, and Jacob Ang.

Entry into the Vios Cup Grounds at CIS is free of charge

Next up is the sporting class which consists of a mix of pro and neophyte racers like Alan Palacios, Russel Cabrera, Michael Keilani Jordan, Jay Lai, Bern Corpino, Marky Youing, and Maila Alivia. Likewise joining this group are father and son Darrel Garbes and Jiro Garbes, as well as Golden Wheels Awards Foundation Driver of the Year Miguel Quiñones.

The Promotional Class meanwhile, is consisted of Jarond Mesina, Alain Alzona, Bong Garbes, Paolo Ayo, Chris Gleeson, Rich Lim, and Paul Ang. This group will be joined by celebrities Enzo Pineda and Ryan Agoncillo. Likewise joining in is Julia de los Angeles, an up-and-coming talent in motorsports who started competing in the Vios Cup at 16 years old. 

Besides the circuit event, this leg will also see the final stretch of the TGR Cup Autocross Challenge. In this competition, celebrities and influencers like Macoy Dubs, Megan Young, Benedict Cua, Ezra Domingo, Genesis Redido, Apple David, Arianne Bautista, Reph Bangsil, Migy Romulo, Bianco Yao, Carla Lizardo, and Lexi Mendiola will show their mettle in navigating through a course marked out by cones as fast as possible.

The star of the show are the Vios one-make-race (OMR) cars

To further spice things up, former media class Autocross champion Jose Alteveros will be running an exhibition run. Also making an appearance during this leg are TGR Vios Cup Autocross alumni Jamil Lacuna of Autoindustriya and Pablo Salapantan of YugaAuto. 

While the TRG racing action plays out, Toyota Motor Philippines is likewise displaying its lineup of GR-S models. This includes the likes of the Fortuner GR-S, and Rush GR-S, among others.
