The Toyota Vios topped the list with 34,465 units sold.

It shouldn’t come as no surprise that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) remains the leader in car sales in the country last year. In fact, most of the models in the top 10 best-selling cars list in 2022 carry a Toyota badge.

Toyota Vios is still the king of the hill

In a report by Autoindustriya.com, TMP has eight of its cars in the top 10 sales ranking list of brands under the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).

The Toyota Vios is still the number one choice among Filipinos with 34,465 units sold in 2022. Completing the podium are the Toyota Hilux and Innova with 24,537 and 17,810 units sold, respectively.

Toyota caters to the workhorse pickup demand with the Hilux

Now that the all-new Toyota Vios has already made its way to various ASEAN countries, it would be interesting to see how the new iteration will affect the subcompact sedan’s sales if it were to be launched locally. As of this writing, TMP has yet to put out a word regarding the matter.

Toyota’s 7-seater vehicles finished fourth and fifth with the Fortuner and Rush, respectively. Two of the smallest Toyota models in the local lineup, the Wigo, and the Raize, make up the sixth and seventh places. And lastly, the Toyota Hiace makes the top 10 list in ninth place.

The Nissan Navara completes the top 10 list

The only non-Toyota models on the list are the Mitsubishi Xpander (finished eighth) and Nissan Navara (finished 10th).
