Suzuki Philippines has confirmed that the Jimny 5-Door will debut on January 25, 2024. This comes just a month after a fleet of Suzuki Jimny 5-Door units was spotted along the STAR tollway.
Suzuki Philippines told Philkotse that the 2024 Jimny 5-Door will be offered in three variants: GL MT, GLX AT Monotone, and GLX AT Two-tone. From the variant names, one can quickly tell that the PH-spec Jimny 5-Door can be had with either a manual or an automatic transmission.
The Jimny 5-Door is equipped with a 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine, which is the same power unit found on its 3-Door sibling. It delivers 101 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque, and the engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
The full specs of the upcoming Suzuki Jimny 5-Door for the Philippines have yet to be revealed. But, looking at the global spec, Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system is part of the Jimny 5-Door’s powertrain. It also comes with a new idle start/stop feature.
Suzuki PH did confirm that the 2024 Jimny 5-Door for the local market is sourced from India. This is not the case for its 3-Door version as Suzuki PH is sourcing the standard Jimny from Japan once again.
When it comes to the design, the Jimny 5-Door is relatively similar to its 3-Door sibling. Although, the 5-Door version comes with a chrome trim that’s integrated into the grille. The Jimny 5-Door is also 335mm longer than the 3-Door Jimny. The longer body translates to more cargo space and an increased leg room for the rear passengers. But, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is still a four-seater vehicle.
So, how much will be the Jimny 5-Door’s sticker price? Suzuki PH said that it will be announcing Jimny 5-Door’s official pricing by launch date, which is going to be on January 25, 2024. The Japanese car brand added that the deliveries of the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-door units to its dealership network have already started.
