The hybrid tech can help you save some gas money on long family trips.

For those who are in the market for their next vehicle, Suzuki Philippines is offering the updated Ertiga that now boasts a hybrid technology. To go along with it, the Japanese automaker shared three reasons why it thinks the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is an ideal family car.

The first reason is the standard seven-seating configuration, allowing even extended family to join road trips. The second-row seats come with a sliding function, which should provide third-row passengers more knee room when needed.

Opt for the top-of-the-line GLX and you get a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This provides entertainment for passengers by seamlessly connecting smartphones for music on the go.

The second reason is the technologies including an engine auto start-stop system (EASS) for improving fuel efficiency. It is complemented by standard safety technologies such as dual airbags and an electronic stability program (ESP).

Meanwhile, the Ertiga GLX boasts variant-exclusive features including cruise control, hill-hold control, and a reverse camera.

The third reason is the new hybrid system introduced earlier this year. It consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline inline-4 engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG), churning out a combined output of 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. The engine can be paired to either a 5-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Based on our fuel economy tests, the MPV returned 14.5 km/l and 19.7 km/l in the city and on the highway, respectively. In turn, the seven-seater vehicle can bring families to farther travel destinations without breaking the bank.

“The Ertiga Hybrid can accommodate up to seven passengers with comfortable seating, which is perfect for those long trips and even for just those city drives in the metro,” said Suzuki Philippines Director and General Manager Norihide Takei.

The hybrid system improves performance and efficiency

Suzuki Philippines is offering the Ertiga Hybrid with a price that ranges from Php 954,000 for the entry-level GA to Php 1,178,000 for the GLX.
