Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid could come with P954K starting price: Report

This potentially makes it the most affordable electrified model locally.

Suzuki Auto Philippines (SPH) was initially non-committal regarding the arrival of the Ertiga Hybrid following the model’s preview at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). But now, reports have surfaced that the MPV could start with a Php 954,000 price tag.

Pricing information for the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid has been released by local dealers, albeit unofficially

This was according to a report by CarGuide, independently verified by Philkotse through contact with several SPH dealers. For the most part, the electrified Ertiga will practically replace the standard model except for a single variant. Ahead of the new Ertiga’s launch on January 16, introductory prices for the range have been disclosed as follows:

  • Suzuki Ertiga GA MT (hybrid) – Php 954,000
  • Suzuki Ertiga GL MT (non-hybrid) – Php 963,000
  • Suzuki Ertiga GL MT (hybrid) - Php 1,068,000
  • Suzuki Ertiga GL AT (hybrid) – Php 1,103,000
  • Suzuki Ertiga GLX AT (hybrid) – Php 1,153,000

Take note, there is no word yet from SPH confirming these prices as official, so these are not necessarily locked in until launch day. However, the dealers have consistently said that these apply to both cash and financing transactions, and customers buying through cash will be eligible for a Php 20,000 discount.

If the advertised pricing for the Ertiga Hybrid holds true, it could potentially be the most affordable electrified model in the local market, undercutting even the cheapest offerings from Chinese automakers. But price slashes are usually accompanied by a proportionate reduction in features.

In India, the Ertiga comes with tech features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa

As it happens, Suzuki has been tight-lipped about what the Ertiga Hybrid will bring to the local MPV segment. In its home market of India, the Ertiga Hybrid’s Smart Hybrid technology comprises a 1.5-liter K-Series gasoline engine partnered with an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a 12-volt lithium-ion battery. Power is routed to the front wheels through either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Other features include automatic headlamps, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, remote starting, quad airbags, and vehicle theft notifications via Suzuki Connect. We’ll have to wait until the January 16 launch to see what specifications the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid will have for the Philippine release.
