However, motorists are encouraged to get an Autosweep RFID.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) began collecting toll fees for the Skyway Stage 3 last July 2021. The elevated expressway is exclusive for Class 1 vehicles that are installed with an Autosweep RFID sticker, and it has no designated cash lanes.

Recently though, using cash to pay the toll fees in Skyway Stage 3 is now possible. This means that motorists who have yet to have an Autosweep RFID sticker installed on their cars can now drive through the said thoroughfare.

Motorists without Autosweep RFID should use the RFID Installation and Loading lane, which is situated at the left-most side of the toll plaza. The said lane is accepting cash payments for the Skyway Stage 3 toll fee. Philkotse has also learned that you are not obliged to have your car installed with an Autosweep RFID sticker (in case you still don’t have one) upon entry on the said lane.

However, SMC is urging motorists to have their cars installed with an Autosweep RFID sticker for faster, and more convenient toll transactions. The Autosweep RFID is used on the following toll roads: South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Metro Manila Skyway System, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway), Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX), and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

The Skyway Stage 3 is an 18.83-km elevated expressway that connects SLEX to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). It is said to reduce travel time between Buendia to NLEX to only 15 minutes, and Alabang to NLEX to only 30 minutes.

“This is a game-changer for our economy…With Skyway 3, we will improve the daily commutes and lives of so many Filipinos. We will lessen their time spent in traffic on the road, we can increase both their productivity and time spent with their families,” SMC president Ramon Ang said.

Speed limit along Skyway Stage 3 is set at 60 km/h

SMC is also implementing a 60 km/h speed limit on the Skyway Stage 3 due to the expressway’s variable direction lane scheme. SMC has also set the said speed limit in consideration of ongoing works along the elevated expressway.
