After its introduction to the Thai market, the refreshed version of the Isuzu mu-X for the 2023 model year has now arrived on Philippine shores.
The 2023 Isuzu mu-X
Note that this update comes a few months after it was released in the Land of Smiles, which was in October 2022. It also comes two years after the current-gen model was launched for the Philippine market back in 2021.
New to the Philippine-spec 2023 Isuzu mu-X is a revamped front grille with a black chrome finish. From the sides, it likewise sports a new set of 20-inch wheels that come in a rotor blade-like design.
On top of those exterior styling changes, Isuzu also added the new Norwegian Blue exterior paint. The brand says that it helps the mu-X appear classier and more upscale.
Refreshed mu-X from the rear
The practicality that the Isuzu mu-X provides was also reinforced. This is thanks to a new advanced key detection system for the power tailgate feature.
While having a power tailgate already makes loading the trunk easier, this new key detection system makes the said feature “smarter”. Whenever the system senses that the vehicle’s key is close by, it automatically opens the tailgate. This allows for hands-free use of the power tailgate and can make loading items into the mu-X’s trunk an absolute breeze.
With regards to engines, the 2023 Isuzu mu-X retains the same 1.9-liter turbodiesel and 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine options. The 1.9-liter mill can make up to 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The larger 3.0-liter engine meanwhile, can churn out up to 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.
