This new model will be larger than the Omoda 5 and E5.

Omoda announces that it is set to debut an all-new model. This is the Omoda 7, and its global launch will be happening at Auto China in the city of Beijing on April 28, 2024.

Omoda 7 teaser photo

As per the brand, the upcoming Omoda 7 will be a larger crossover SUV than the Omoda 5. For now, we’ve yet to see how it looks in full, but the teaser photo the brand provided shows a slick and sporty ride that mixes “futuristic sensibility and aesthetic beauty.”

The teaser photo in question only shows the vehicle’s side profile, but one can see that it gets sharp headlamps and a very detailed grille. It also sports a black-colored roof and an angled window line which leads to a tapered rear end.

Also visible from the teaser is an angled rear window and the typical black plastic claddings present on crossover SUVs. It also appears that it will come with a pair of roof rails.

No mechanical specs or features list of the Omoda 7 were provided by the Chinese car brand, for now. But numerous speculative reports are saying that this is the “more stylish equivalent” of the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. Of note, Omoda is a sub-brand of Chery Automobile Co. Ltd. with cars positioned to be marketed outside China.

The other model in the brand’s lineup is the Omoda 5 and the electric-powered Omoda E5, which debuted for the local market at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show. As per the brand, the Omoda E5 model has already achieved a 65 percent global month-over-month growth in March 2024.

With that said,  the carmaker hopes that the Omoda 7 will replicate the global success of the Omoda E5. The question now is: is this all-new Omoda crossover SUV coming to the Philippine market as well?
