Nissan Philippines has been busy this year with the launch of several new models such as the Kicks e-Power, and the seven-seater Livina MPV. Aside from car launches, Nissan PH is ending the year on a high note as it bags four accolades in the 2022-2023 AutoFocus People’s and Media’s Choice Awards (AFPMCA).
The Nissan Almera clinch the title of the Best Value for Money in the Subcompact Sedan category. The automaker said that the Almera is Nissan’s take on the modern and capable subcompact sedan that features “dynamic styling, exciting turbo engine performance, and advanced driving technologies.”
Available in four variants with a starting price of Php 779,000, the Nissan Almera goes up against the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Geely Emgrand, among others.
All Almera variants in the Philippines are equipped with a 1.0-liter inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine that makes 99 hp with 160 Nm of torque for the five-speed manual variants or 152 Nm for the continuously variable transmission trims.
The Nissan Almera VE and VL variants come with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which features an around-view monitor.
Other safety features under the mid and top-spec Almera variants include an Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW), Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), and six airbags. Furthermore, exclusive to the VL variant includes a Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), while a Hill Start Assist (HSA) feature is standard across the trim.
Meanwhile, the Nissan Patrol took home two awards, which are: People’s Choice for the Luxury SUV/Crossover of the Year, and the Media’s Choice for the Best Luxury Large SUV category. The Patrol is available in the Philippines with a sticker price of Php 4,698,000.
The GT-R completes Nissan PH’s collection of awards at the 2022-2023 AFPMCA as it was named the Media’s Choice for the Best Engine Performance in a Luxury Sports Car.
"These achievements are a testament to our exciting product portfolio, as validated by our customers and the motoring media. We take great pride in these awards as we continue to provide our customers the best of Nissan's innovative technology and class-leading performance," says Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos.
