The Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck has finally made its debut. The Korean automaker has also released the official specs of the Santa Cruz, which gives us an idea that it’s not a typical midsize pickup truck. One of the details that makes it unique is its overall size and dimension.
The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz comes with a measurement that spans 4,971mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,694mm in height. It also comes with a wheelbase of 3,005mm and a bed length of 1,323mm. These numbers are relatively small as compared to the midsize trucks we have in the Philippines.

To put things in perspective, the Nissan Navara measures 5,260mm long, 1,850mm wide, and 1,860mm tall. This means that the Navara is longer by 289mm and taller by 166mm than the Hyundai pickup truck.
Another midsize pickup truck we can throw in for reference is the Mitsubishi Strada that measures 5,300mm long, 1,815mm wide, and 1,795mm tall. The Strada is longer by 329mm and taller by 101mm.
It should be good enough for out-of-town trips
As for the bed length, Nissan’s pickup truck measures 1,470mm, 147 mm longer than Hyundai’s new pickup truck. With that being said, one can make a case that the Hyundai Santa Cruz is more of a compact truck rather than an actual midsize pickup truck.
Hyundai’s latest addition to its lineup can be described more as a lifestyle pickup truck instead of a workhorse. It has a distinctive front end thanks to its parametric jewel design similar to the new Hyundai Tucson. The rear, on the other hand, is complemented by a horizontal “T” lighting signature on the taillights.
Hyundai's pickup truck showcases a well-rounded design
The Korean carmaker will start accepting reservations for Santa Cruz in late April in the United States, and it will go on sale in June. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country, has yet to put out a word regarding the matter. There might be a chance that the Santa Cruz will make its way into the local market since it is a global pickup truck model. But, we have yet to hear from HARI in regards to its future plans for the said pickup truck.
