It is expected to give 500 AstraZeneca doses per day.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO), has brought its mobile COVID-19 vaccination drive to the LTO Central Office.

We Vax as One: Mobile Vaccination Drive

This mobile vaccination drive follows the pilot implementation of the said campaign at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX). According to the MMDA, the government agency managed to inoculate 1,361 individuals between January 24 and 28, 2022, as part of DOTr’s continuing efforts to expand the mobile vaccination drive.

Now, the latest mobile vaccination drive effort at LTO Central Office will distribute vaccines to individuals residing in and around Diliman, Quezon City. Dubbed as the “We Vax as One: Mobile Vaccination Drive,” the 4-day vaccination activity will be held at the LTO Chapel from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The said mobile vaccination drive will run until February 17, 2022.

The government agency targets to give 500 AstraZeneca doses per day under its intensified vaccination rollout campaign. This was launched to inoculate commuters and transport workers, which is vital in response to DOTr’s ‘No Vaxx, No Ride’ policy. With this, the transmission of COVID-19 within the transport sector can be lessened.

The mobile vaccination drive is being held at LTO Central Office

Booster shots are said to be prioritized during the duration of the mobile vaccination drive at the LTO Central Office. Former MMDA Benhur Abalos recently stated that it is important for Filipinos to receive booster shots to fully protect them from the virus. However, first and second doses have been made available as well. To note, walk-in vaccinees are advised to register onsite at the LTO Ground Floor.

Aside from mobile vaccination drives, the DOTr announced that it will set up vaccination centers in strategic locations. Data shows that 85 percent of COVID-19 patients confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are not vaccinated, hence the introduction of new vaccination programs. Some of the projected areas include airports, seaports, train stations, and exit points of expressways.
