The MPV segment is looking to be exciting.

Lately, the MPV segment for the ASEAN region has gotten exciting. If you remember, we already provided a glimpse into what the new 2022 Toyota Avanza looks like, specifically the Veloz trim.

The updated Xpander spotted during a video shoot in Indonesia

In turn, it looks like its direct competitor, the Mitsubishi Xpander, is also getting a facelift. Like the news on the Avanza, this comes from AutonetMagz.com, which showed several spy pics of the said Mitsubishi MPV when the marque was taking it out to shoot a commercial somewhere in Indonesia.

As far as the pictures go, the updated Xpander still bears the same overall shape. Most of the changes however are found on the front of the vehicles, which get a pair of narrower-looking LED headlamps. The spy pics are blurry but we can see that the headlamps also get this sideways oriented T-shape, which then tapers towards the Dynamic Shield grille.

The side profile didn't change, but its getting a new set of wheels

Moreover, the LED daytime running lights positioned on top of the headlamps have been stretched to reach further on the length of the car. The wheels also have this new design, but they appear to bear the same two-tone color scheme as the current model.

Last but not the least is the rear lower bumper, which looks like it received a new trim piece. Again, it isn’t clear on the pictures, but it looks like its sides have larger cutouts. As of yet, we aren’t sure if those are faux vents or a larger rear reflector though.

For now, not much is known about the Mitsubishi Xpander 2021-2022 facelift. Furthermore, we also have no idea if the brand also made changes to its interior and on-board features. On that note, the marque itself is yet to release any information regarding the updated model, and we can only guess at its timeline of release.

It isn't that clear here, but we can see that the rear has some changes as well

So if you’re excited about this upcoming model update, make sure to watch this space, as Philkotse will be reporting about it as soon as more information comes out.
