An executive reportedly said that this is now under consideration.

Mitsubishi is considering releasing Ralliart-themed variants for the all-new Strada, which includes a version that comes with a more potent engine that could possibly rival the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Mitsubishi chief product specialist Yoshiki Masuda said that the Ralliart-themed variants of the Strada could come with an appearance package that can give the pickup truck an even more assertive look. Masuda added that Mitsubishi is considering offering a Strada Ralliart that’s complete with a performance upgrade.

Speaking to Australian publication Drive, Masuda hinted that Ralliart-themed variants for the Strada, sold as Triton or L200 in other markets, are in Mitsubishi’s pipeline and it’s now under consideration. He also said that future Strada variants will depend on what the customer demands.

"In the pickup, we have a base model; we have different versions based on the customer. And then [we could have a] sports version, a rally version - a Ralliart, maybe? I don't know," Masuda said.

"It's now in consideration. But when we introduce the Ralliart, maybe in the future, we would have some grades. Some people want to have cosmetic [upgrades] to get an affordable price, but some people [want] a super powerful and sporty model," Masuda added.

The Ralliart-themed Strada variants sound promising

A concrete timeline for the reportedly Strada Ralliart versions was not shared by Masuda. The all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Strada debuted last month in Bangkok, Thailand. It features a major design overhaul, which is expected for a new-generation model.

The Strada is powered by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel 4N16 engine that can deliver up to 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The said power output is already within ballpark figures when compared with the Philippine-spec next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor that puts out 207 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

But, the power output of the Strada’s turbodiesel engine is far from the Ranger Raptor’s 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged gasoline engine that puts out 392 hp and 583 Nm of torque. The said numbers are most likely what Mitsubishi is aiming for should the Strada Ralliart gets the green light.
