This could be the last Mini with three pedals.

In celebration of its motorsports history, British automaker Mini revealed the Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition.

Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition

The Mini John Cooper 1to6 Edition is a limited model that boasts a six-speed manual transmission, hence the 1to6 moniker. This could be the final Mini to be equipped with three pedals as the automaker is shifting to electrification, with the Mini Cooper Electric expected to be formally revealed in the second half of 2023.

“The Mini John Cooper Works models have their roots in motorsport. With the Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition, we are celebrating Mini’s legendary motorsport history and maximizing the brand-typical driving experience,” said Stefanie Wurst, Head of Mini.

It is fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox

The same 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is used to be connected to the six-speed manual, which makes 231 horsepower. This is enough for the 3-door hatchback to go from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.

Design-wise, the Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition is finished with the Midnight Black exterior color with a center-running hood stripe. It is fitted with a set of 18-inch Circuit Spoke rims in Jet Black.

The vehicle is embedded with 1to6 logos

Stepping into the interior, Mini added bits exclusive to the 1to6 Edition. This includes the 1to6 logo on the door sills and floor mats, and black “one of 999” lettering on the left side of the steering wheel. Other interior features include red ambient lighting, a glowing red bezel on the center console, and red stitching.

The automaker debuted the Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring last May 20, 2023. A specially-modified version, run by the Bulldog Racing Team, joined the endurance race. It shared the track with other automakers including Subaru with its WRX and Hyundai with its Elantra N.

This could be the last Mini with a manual

We won’t likely see the limited model on our roads as it is scheduled to be made available only in Europe, the USA, Canada, and Mexico starting September 2023. Only 999 units will be produced.
