Mazda Philippines announced that the updated Mazda3 for the 2024 model year is now available in the local market. The new compact car hosts a wide array of new features for both the non-hybrid and hybrid models.

Exterior-wise, the Mazda3 gets a new adaptive front-lighting system (AFS) for its LED headlights. The new feature optimizes the distribution of light according to driving circumstances. Mazda also tweaked the LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and adopted its signature LED rear illumination.
The Mazda3 Sedan has a new bright silver finish for the wheels, while the Mazda3 Fastback gets a black metallic finish instead. For the 2024 model year, Mazda Philippines is offering the car in seven colors: Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Platinum Quartz, Snowflake White Pearl, Polymetal Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, and Jet Black.
The compact car hosts upgrades inside and out
Inside, the cabin is equipped with a new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is around 2.25 inches larger than the old display. This is complemented by a wireless Apple CarPlay, dual USB-C ports for faster charging, a wireless charger, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
While the Mazda3 Sport only gets a new blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, the brand added a long list of safety equipment in the hybrid version. It includes front cross-traffic alert, front cross-brake support, rear cross-brake support, and a driver monitoring system.
The Mazda3 Sport still retains the 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G (gasoline) engine capable of generating 153 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, cruise control, and Sport mode.

Likewise, the Mazda3 HEV variant continues to use the same mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) powertrain dubbed M Hybrid. Adding around 6.8 horsepower and 49 Nm of torque, the combined performance figures are 162 horsepower and 213 Nm of torque. Mazda reiterated that the M Hybrid improves acceleration and fuel efficiency.
“Constant evolution and improvement has always been fundamental to Mazda’s ethos so it’s important that we pass on the benefits of new technologies to our customers as soon as we can,” said Mazda Philippines President and CEO Steven Tan.
“With its upgrades to connectivity, safety, and comfort, the Mazda3 continues to be the best-looking and most generously equipped compact car in the market,” added Tan.
Safer and smarter
Mazda Philippines is offering the non-hybrid Mazda3 at Php 1,510,000 (sedan and fastback). Meanwhile, the hybrid versions are available for Php 1,790,000 (sedan and fastback).
