The Italian automaker partnered with Venturi Racing to enter the racing series as Maserati MSG Racing. Edoardo Mortara will continue racing for the team. He will be joined by Maximilian Günther who raced with Nissan e.dams for the 2021 to 2022 Formula E season.
For the upcoming season, Edo and Max will be competing in the racing series’ Gen3 cars. These are said to be the fastest, lightest, and most powerful Formula E single-seater ever. Edo is looking to add more wins to his stats of six wins and 13 podiums, while Max will continue to rack up achievements to his resume that is highlighted by the youngest Formula E winner record.
The Trident will return to racing
Maserati MSG Racing will be fighting to be at the very front following the eighth season when the team finished second in the Constructors Championship. Here is what Edo has to say about his new teammate and what to expect coming into the new season:
“As a Swiss-Italian, representing the Maserati brand in their return to international motorsport will be a great honor. I’m also looking to working with Max who has already shown promise as a Formula E driver. As the reigning Vice-World Champions, it’s a great time to be joining the team and I think Max and I will make a strong team as we take on the Championship together.”
In Maximilian Günther’s part, he said, “I’m very proud to be joining the Maserati MSG Racing family alongside Edo of Season 9. I have a lot of admiration for the team and their achievements in recent seasons – they have been tough to beat and fully deserve their current status as Vice-World Champions.”
