For those unfamiliar with the nameplate, the Lexus LBX is currently the smallest model ever within the brand’s lineup. But despite its tiny profile, it looks like it is offering a lot to its prospective buyers. These details were detailed by the brand via a sneak peek preview of the LBX.
Starting with its design, it borrows plenty of the recognizable design beats found on its larger Lexus crossover siblings. Present on this EV is a sharp-looking front end which is enhanced by a pair of stylish LED headlamp clusters, as well as a seamless spindle grille.
Its side section meanwhile, mixes elegance and utility by combining smooth surfaces with black plastic claddings. The rear also mirrors the bold-looking front end thanks to its LED light strip and its shapely trunk door.
Inside, one will be greeted by a well-appointed interior that’s equipped with a driver-oriented cockpit. This, of course, is underscored by the brand’s “Omotenashi” and “Tazuna” concepts.

Omotenashi is a Japanese term that refers to the application of thoughtful design and effective details in order to make a guest feel welcome. In the context of the LBX, every single interior feature is designed to automatically meet the demands of its user, from the car’s audio settings, driver position, and even interior temperature.
Tazuna meanwhile, is a Japanese word that describes how a rider intuitively controls their horse. For the LBX, its designers took great care to make the interface as seamless as possible to make the driver and the car united in their purpose. This is done by maximizing forward visibility and making the various in-car controls easy to reach.
For now, the brand hasn’t disclosed the mechanical specs of the LBX, but the company shared that it will have a perfectly balanced suspension, chassis, power delivery, braking, steering, and interior noise and vibrations, among other parameters.

The luxury carmaker also shared that it is equipped with the Lexus Safety System+. This suite of advanced driver assist features includes dynamic radar cruise control, and lane departure alert, among others.
With its entry into the local market, it will be the brand’s second model within its battery-electric lineup alongside the Lexus RZ450e. Lexus has also opened pre-orders for this brand-new ride - with the delivery period to start on March 18.
Reservations for this model are done via Lexus Manila, so better pay the said dealership a visit if you’re in the market for a luxury subcompact EV crossover.
