The brand is making a strong impression since its relaunch in 2021.

Kia is proud to announce its double win at this year’s iF Design Award, clinching the “Company Branding” and “Shop/Showroom Store Identity” categories.

According to the Korean automaker, the brand’s ‘Movement that Inspires’ ethos and its ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy help deliver its award-winning corporate identity and showroom identity strategies.

The ‘Movement that Inspires’ is Kia’s new brand direction introduced back in 2021. It came with a new logo that features a corporate color scheme of Midnight Black and Polar White. This contrasting color scheme is said to convey the values of Sustainability, Eco-Friendliness, and Smart Mobility.

Meanwhile, the ‘Opposite United’ design philosophy is applied to Kia showrooms, which combines elements that don’t traditionally go together. Thanks to the iF Design Award, the brand’s design philosophy proves that creative contrasts can provide an appealing design.

Kia's design elevated since its brand relaunched in 2021

Kia showrooms feature opposing exhibition and customer zones. The futuristic exhibition zone features pronounced corners and achromatic colors. It also comes with steel surfaces that subtly reflect each model, enhancing visibility and a sense of space.

By contrast, the customer zone has round edges, lit wooden walls, floors, ceilings, and premium fabric-covered furniture, which is said to create a relaxing ambiance for showroom visitors to view Kia cars.

Locally, we can also see this design philosophy in Kia showrooms, which was pioneered by the brand’s Alabang showroom. It was followed by other showrooms including Kia Acropolis, Kia Kawit, and Kia Ortigas, among others.

Kia delivers award-winning designs

Kia managed to secure two prestigious design awards, which were selected by a total of 133 design experts from 20 different countries. The experts were gathered to judge the shortlisted 3,572 projects out of the 10,544 initial entries.

Among the awards Kia bagged in recent times including the Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid’s Red Dot Design Award, and the Kia EV6 GT’s 2023 World Performance award and the Car of the Year 2022 award from What Car?
