Kia Corporation announced that the EV9 is set for a global premiere this month.
Kia EV9 teaser video
To ramp the excitement up, the Korean automaker released two teaser videos of its new flagship all-electric SUV. According to the brand, this model will “accelerate the company’s transformation into a sustainable solutions provider in the era of electrification.”
The Kia EV9 hiding in the dark provides a glimpse of its unique headlight assembly, which features geometric patterns on each side. One can also expect to see a reimagined tiger nose grille on the EV9, as well as for the brand’s upcoming electric vehicles (EVs).
Another feature the teaser videos suggest is the EV9’s aerodynamic exterior design. Apart from the boxy body with sharp character lines, the door handles appear to be tucked in flat with the body panels. The windshield wipers also appear to be capable of tucking under the hood.

Moving to the back, not a lot has been unveiled. But we do see a massive taillight assembly that follows the sharp sculpting of the rear end.
Like the Kia EV6, the EV9 is underpinned by the company’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This is the same platform used by other EV models sold by the Hyundai Motor Group including the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis GV60.
Kia plans to release two EV models each year until 2027, with the EV9 spearheading this plan. According to Kia, the 7-seater all-electric SUV will offer a maximum range of 540 km. Kia is also claiming that it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just five seconds.
A new Kia EV will come out soon
For now, we will have to wait for the official specifications, which will be revealed during the Kia EV9 World Premiere in late March. But before that, the automaker will fully unveil the exterior and interior design in mid-March.
