One is a feature-filled off-roader, while the other is a no-frills logistics solution.

Astara Philippines, the official distributor of JMC vehicles, has previewed two of its upcoming pickup trucks via an experiential drive event at The General’s Farm in Tanauan, Batangas. These upcoming truck models are the JMC Grand Avenue and the JMC Vigus.

JMC Grand Avenue

These two models will be officially launched at the upcoming 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The said test drive preview event, on the other hand, offered local automotive media representatives, JMC dealers, and fleet account representatives a close-up look at these two new models.

To cater to customers in need of a comfortable yet off-road capable pickup truck, there’s the JMC Grand Avenue. It uses a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine which can dish out 174 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Power is sent to a Borg Warner 4x4 system via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

Apart from its ability to go on adventures, the Grand Avenue also boasts an imposing exterior design with a fierce-looking grille. This is combined with a plush interior filled with loads of amenities and tech.

For on-board entertainment, this pickup truck model gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also boasts leather-clad seats, a push-to-start button, and plenty of USB charging outlets.

The Grand Avenue also features several safety features that one would expect from a modern truck. This includes anti-lock braking, electronic brake force distribution, electronic stability control, hill descent control, traction control, a reverse camera, and parking sensors, among others.

Folks in need of a no-frills truck that’s ready to function as a fleet vehicle or a business-oriented transport may like the JMC Vigus. This model, in turn, uses a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that’s capable of producing 128 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.

The JMC Vigus meanwhile, will retail between sub-Php 1.0 million to Php 1.11 million. For now, a full specs list, variant list, and exact prices for these trucks are yet to be shared by the brand.
