Isuzu D-Max wins Best All-Terrain Workhorse award for second year in UK

The award-winning Isuzu D-Max pickup truck has added another accolade to its belt. This time, it was honored with the title of “Best All-Terrain Workhorse” at the 2023 Fleet News Awards event held in London, UK.

Note that this is the second time in a row that the D-Max has won this award. If one remembers, this Isuzu truck also won the “Pickup of the Year 2023” from the 4x4 Magazine. In the Philippines, the D-Max was likewise hailed as the “Pickup of the Year” at the 18th Annual C! Awards. 

According to the panel of Fleet News Awards judges, “The D-Max is a true workhorse which excels in the utilities and agricultural sectors.” They likewise praised the model for its reliability, its high-quality fit and finish, and its good driving dynamics. It likewise gained compliments from the judges for being “an excellent fleet option” in the UK market due to its relatively low price.

Note that the UK-spec Isuzu D-Max in stock form can carry up to a ton of cargo on its bed. It can likewise tow up to 3.5 tons. This is thanks to its robust body-on-frame build, that’s combined with a double-wishbone front, and leaf spring rear suspension.   

In the Philippine market, the Isuzu D-Max comes with similar capacities. Found under the hood of the Philippine-spec Isuzu pickup truck is a 2.5-liter turbodiesel mill that can produce up to 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. A 1.9-liter turbodiesel that can deliver up to 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque is likewise available.  

For transmissions, the Isuzu D-Max in the Philippine market may come with a 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. A 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain is also available for this model.
