Hyundai Motor has expanded its Future Mobility School in the ASEAN region. The educational program arrived in 12 schools – three in Indonesia, five in Malaysia, and four in Cambodia.

Hyundai expands its Future Mobility School to ASEAN countries

Introduced in 2016, the Future Mobility School teaches young individuals about innovations in the mobility industry, such as autonomous driving systems, electrification, and eco-friendly mobility. 23 skilled teachers from South Korea have been selected to provide learning activities to participating schools.

“Hyundai is committed to using mobility for the betterment of humanity, and we believe that education plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation, especially in ASEAN countries, with its demographic bonus,” said Hyundai Motor ASEAN Headquarters Executive Vice President and Head Youngtack Lee.

Hyundai offers three classes for primary and junior students: “Eco-Friendly Mobility Saving Our Planet”, “Making Our Future Mobility”, and “Creating a Future City.” The students are encouraged to express their creativity by creating keychains from recycled materials, drawing pictures, and building clay sculptures.

The program aims to teach students more about mobility

Meanwhile, senior students take two advanced courses: “Understanding Autonomous Driving Technology” and “Autonomous Driving Mobility Experience.” They learn about safety technologies used in autonomous driving systems and create their own model cars with the said technology.

In the PH-spec Hyundai Ioniq 5, the all-electric compact crossover champions the brand’s Smartsense Technology. It is an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that provides semi-autonomous features such as lane keeping assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane follow assist, and rear cross traffic collision avoidance.

According to a survey, 98 percent of teachers were satisfied with the Future Mobility School. Meanwhile, 97 percent of students said the educational program helped them set their career paths. Hyundai will further expand the program to the Philippines and Thailand next year.

Hyundai plans to bring the program to the Philippines next year

While we await the arrival of Future Mobility School in the country, Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPI) has been hands-on in providing educational campaigns for Filipinos. The latest was collaborating with the city of Pasig to provide scholarships to students who want to learn more about the car industry.
