Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) has partnered with the city of Pasig for the expansion of the Hyundai Accelerate. The program aims to provide scholarships to Filipinos who strive to become more knowledgeable in the field of automotive technology.
Hyundai partners with Pasig city to expand its scholarship program
Present in the Hyundai Accelerate agreement signing were HMPH President Mr. Dong Wook Lee, Honorable Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis "Vico" Sotto, and other key representatives from concerned parties.
“We thank the City Government of Pasig for allowing us to support as well as be one of the contributors of its Five-Point Agenda, specifically the 'Education' pillar," said Lee.
The partnership has admitted four Pasigueño scholars this trimester to an intensive 12-month Industrial Skills Training Program under Don Bosco Makati's Technical-Vocational Education and Training Curriculum.

Moreover, the Hyundai Accelerate will offer selected students the opportunity to be absorbed by a Hyundai dealership after their on-the-job training (OJT). As such, these students should be working with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Tucson in the future.
For those who may be assigned to electric vehicle (EV)-ready dealerships, they should service the brand's electric cars including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. The former is a compact crossover with a range of 451 km, while the latter is a midsize sedan with a range of 545 km.
"We’re very thankful for the partnership with Hyundai Motor Philippines because we see that this is precisely the way to go. Not just to give the students scholarships and extend help, but also to give them a guaranteed future," said Mayor Sotto.
The automaker continues to expand its Hyundai Accelerate program
The city of Pasig is the second to be part of the Hyundai Accelerate. The first ones are Taguig and Pateros made possible through the Department of Education Taguig City and Pateros. The signing ceremony was held just last June 27, 2023.
