It took a while but the RS variant of the Honda HR-V is finally here, making an appearance at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). As an RS-branded model, the vehicle comes with a sportier appearance inside and out which should appeal to those who like to live in the fast lane.

Exterior-wise, the new variant is installed with a sporty chrome front grille, a glossy black bumper with chrome, and a smoke LED light bar. For the first time, the model is now equipped with LED sequential turn signal lights. It rides on a set of 18-inch RS-design alloys, which is an inch larger than the ones in the S and V variants.
As for the interior, the cabin is added with red stitching for that intended sporty appeal. It can be found on the seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and shift knob. This is the type of layout you will see on Honda cars with the RS badge including the Civic and City.

To complement the sporty badge, the new HR-V model gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC engine good for 175 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. It is the same power unit found in the outgoing top-spec variant, the HR-V V. The engine sends power to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
