Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) is proud to announce that the City Hatchback won the Best Design award in its segment at the 2021-2022 Auto Focus People’s & Media’s Choice Awards (AFPMCA), which is now on its 17th edition.
Honda City Hatchback
The Honda City Hatchback was selected as the Media's Choice when it comes to having the Best Design in its segment. Of note, the said vehicle is the brand’s replacement for the Honda Jazz as its entry in the local hatchback segment. It is offered in the RS variant only which gives the City Hatchback a sporty and more upscale appearance from the front to the back. This is one of the many reasons why this vehicle’s design stands out in the market.
At the front, the City Hatchback has a mean-looking fascia thanks to its sharp LED headlamps. This is highlighted by the integration of the LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Only blacked-out trims can be seen around the vehicle which creates a sportier and rugged design.
The character line that runs between the front headlamp and LED taillight provides an aerodynamic touch to the sides. As standard, this Japanese hatchback uses 16-inch two-tone Berlina black alloy wheels which go well with the blacked-out bits of the exterior body.
It now boasts a Best Design award
The all-new Honda City Hatchback is also awarded the Media's Choice Best Engine Performance award in its segment at the 2021-2022 AFPMCA. Under the hood, it is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine capable of generating 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This power unit setup allowed the City Hatchback to register a fuel economy of 25 km/l.
HCPI is offering four colors for the City Hatchback, namely the Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.
Honda Cars Philippines brought home seven awards
Aside from the Honda City Hatchback, AFPMCA also awarded other Honda models. Just like last year, the Honda Brio won Best Engine Performance and Best Safety Features awards. Meanwhile, the Honda Civic and Honda Accord received the Best Engine Performance award each. Lastly, the Honda Odyssey bagged the Luxury Standard Van/MPV for the seventh consecutive time.
“Honda commits to always give our best to our customers through our products and services. Thank you for your continued support,” said HCPI President Mr. Masahiko Nakamura.
